Document Distribution

Document distribution is the cutting edge of copy-and-print technology. All the major manufacturers now have document distribution tools, which are usually a mixture of hardware and software designed to help manage all your paper.

Whatever anyone says, the "paperless office" is a pipedream- we're going to have post-it notes all over our desks for many years to come! Scanning and managing all that paper is where document distribution comes in. Canon, for example, have the "Imagerunner" range of copiers, with a simple touchscreen which will enable a range of distribution functions; for example sending documents directly into an archive or document management system. You can send direct to email or to fax, distribute to specific addresses and groups, direct documents over a network, or send to a software interpreter for reading. Konica-Minolta too offer document management with their MicroPress workflow solutions.

Quite simply, the tools are now available to do as much with paper as you already can with electronically held information.
